1850 Census aged 7 First person buried in Long Creek Cemetery, Grant Co., Oregon From Internment.net (Cemetery Transcription Library): This cemetery started in 1877 with the death of Eliza Ballance. Her husband, Charles Ballance, buried her on a piece of land he chose on his homestead. The road to the cemetery used to come through the Ballance barnyard in the early days. This newly chosen site became the community burial grounds for many years. This is to certify that CHARLES BALLANCE (Balance) and ELIZA JANE RICKER?were united in marriage by me, D. H. Weatherwax, Justice of the Peace, on 27?February 1862, in Ohio Township, Franklin Co., KS. |
